Sonia Marines Ferguson, LPC
I am a bilingual (fluent in Spanish) and bicultural, licensed professional counselor (LPC) with vast experience in trauma and abuse, grief and loss, attachment, and crisis counseling. My bilingual and bicultural skills help me connect with and understand Latino families’ unique needs and culture. I previously worked at Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC), Mental Health Partners in Boulder County, and volunteered at Judi’s House, a bereavement center.
My philosophy on therapy: Sometimes people are "stuck" and need extra support and a safe environment to explore their inner selves, relationships, and/or a difficult time in their lives. Together we focus on the client's strengths, areas of their life that they would like to improve, and clarify goals. I create a safe, compassionate place for clients to self-explore. I am passionate about the services that I am able to provide to clients. It's a privilege to walk side by side with a client at their pace and watch them grow and thrive.
Specialities: Mindfulness-based therapy, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, stress management, women's issues, personal growth, life transitions, multicultural issues, and spiritual concerns. I enjoy working with teens and women.
